(Return to Banbury town map index)

Banbury town & Bodicote, 1984
Scan from paper copy of Ordnance Survey Landranger Sheet 151 Stratford upon Avon and surrounding area, scale 1 1/4 inches to 1 mile.

Although this map covers only the southern half of Banbury, we can see that further massive development has taken place since 1968.
The Timms estate has extended along the Oxford Road to meet the northern tip of Bodicote, and the land between the Broughton and Bloxham Roads is completely covered with new housing and a school (Queensway Primary School).
But the main change is the construction of the Cherwell Heights Estate. This was built in the late 60s and early 70s on what was previously open fields. It includes two schools (The Grange Primary School and St John's Catholic Primary School) and shops.
